The basic foundations for the transition to knowledge economy: Prospects for Ukraine

The author justifies the necessity to introduce innovations in the economy as the principal precondition for the recovery of Ukraine’s positions in the world as a competitive and high-technology country. She specifies the principal components, criteria and indicators related to the introduction of knowledge economy, the principal driving forces of the development, and the state’s role in those processes, as well as starting conditions and guidelines for Ukraine with due regard to the peculiarities of the transformations in economy, science and education.
