Composite Social Sector Index and Its Use
in Short-Term Forecasting

ABSTRACT ▼
The article considers the idea of elaboration of composite social sector index for Ukraine. The author proposes her own index construction methodology on the basis of five major social protection types. There are some forecasting grounds for each separate index, which was included into the composite one. The research includes a forecasting model evaluating GDP of Ukraine and provides the analyses of short-term forecast results

Competitiveness of the economic environment in Ukraine. Comparative analysis of the ratings of individual countries

ABSTRACT ▼
The author considers the concept of competitiveness of the economic environment, as well as its basic preconditions. The article provides analysis of WEF (World Economic Forum) competitiveness rankings of eight countries (Finland, Estonia, Hungary, China, Poland, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine) based on the indexes characterizing the pres-ence of favorable business environment. The author proposes recommendations on the strategy to increase the competitiveness of economic environment in Ukraine
